Finding what’s just off the trail
The Side Route was built to make planning off-road trips simpler. Instead of searching across dozens of sites, riders can find trail information, lodging, campgrounds, food, and repair services organized around individual trail systems — all in one place. It’s about where you stay, where you fuel up, where you fix what breaks, and the local places that make a trip easier — or better.
What The Side Route Is
The Side Route is a trail-focused guide for riders who want more than just a map.
Each trail guide includes:
- practical information about the trail system
- nearby lodging, camping, and repair options
- businesses that riders actually use when planning trips
Everything is organized by trail, not by city or keyword — because that’s how riders plan.
Built for Riders First
The Side Route is designed to be:
- clear
- unbiased
- easy to scan
- useful even if you don’t book anything
Listings are shown so riders can make informed decisions, not to overwhelm them with ads. When a business is highlighted, it’s clearly labeled — no hidden promotions.
Supporting Trails and Local Businesses
Local businesses play a huge role in keeping trail communities alive.
Business listings on The Side Route are free to claim, with optional Trail Sponsor placement available for businesses that want to stand out on a specific trail’s guide.
Trail Sponsors:
- appear first in their category on a trail page
- are limited to one per category per trail
- help support the ongoing upkeep of trail guides
Where We’re Headed
The Side Route will continue expanding to include more trail systems and supporting businesses.
The goal is simple:
Make it easier for riders to plan trips — and easier for trail-adjacent businesses to be found.
